    Beocenter 2300 or Beosound 2300

Hi, we have a chance to buy working 2300 in not too good condition. First we are curious is this beocenter 2300 or beosound 2300. How we can distinguish? The the slot in which the lens travelled is an arc, but we saw a lot of pictures, where this slot is vertical. So we are confused. Can anybody help us. This is not a big problem. The biggest problem is that glass doors are broken...aghrrrrrrrrrrrrr. How can we replace them. We do not think our B&O dealer can provide us with spare parts.

    Thanks

In the UK I believe that it has always been Beocenter 2300. The first Beosound was the Ouverture followed by Beosound 3000.

The glass doors can be ordered by any B&O dealer and cost around £80 a pair in the UK. The design of the doors has never changed.

They are available individualy at around £40 a side and they are handed.

    Regards Graham

The version where the laser travels in an arc is the older version. The 'straight' laser is the newer.

Straight lasers are slightly more reliable, but to be fair a failed laser isn't too common.

Also, some of the Beocenter 2300's came equipped with 2-way communication, you can see if this is the case or not by looking at the bottom left corner on the front of the unit. If there is a little IR cover the BC2300 will have the 2-way module.

Thanks Llewelin. Yes, indeed there is a little IR cover. As the glass doors are broken-is this IR is covered by something, or just the glass is covered it? Any advantages with this IR? We suggest to use my BL1000 (or MCP5500). Or probably we need to use another BL?

    Thanks is advance!

Probabaly you are lucky! Our dealer just offered a price of GBP 200!!!!!!! per pair. As they told-spareparts are very expensive......Any suggestions where we can find them cheaper? Of course we will pay P&P.

    Thanks

I may be out of date regarding the price of spares. Some have gone up dramatically recently!

Beocenter 9300 glass keyboards would appear to have doubled in price in recent months!
