    Newer TV's and MCL

I have an Avant 32/BC9500 and an LX5500 link TV. Looking at the PCG newer TV's such as the BV8/BV10/BV7mk3 do not show the Xtra TV kit in the link room options list. They still show the Xtra active speaker kit (which uses the MCL2AV and a tranceiver) but it is not connected to the link TV. This would mean that stereo sound from both video and audio master could not be heard through the TV as now.

Does anyone have experience of the setup to confirm this is the case?

    Re: Newer TV's and MCL

Years ago I had a setup with BV7-40 as videomaster and BS7000 as audiomaster, connected via BL converter to the Beovision and with an MCL linksystem connected to BS7000. This included several MCL2A links, an MCL2AV for active BL5000 speakers in a linkroom and a BL video for the MX4000 in the bedroom. It was possible to access all sources - audio and video - from every room. I know, Beo doesn`t recommand solutions like this, with a ML system and an MCL system in parallel, but it is working great. Should also be possible with an LX5500 (it got the AUDIO AUX LINK connection too, I think ??) or with an MCL2AV.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Stefan,

Yes there are so many permutations with the kit, I just thought it notable that there are differences (for e.g between the 7-40 mk2 and the mk3) in the PCG regarding control from the link room TV.  The LX certainly works all the Avant sources through the MCL2AV.

It may be a case of simply trying it all out and seeing if it works - which is fine if the new purchase is subject to a trial run!

    Thanks,

    David.

    Re: Newer TV's and MCL

I think, Beo doesn`z want to support the Xtra TV kit any longer. That`s why it`s not on the list. But it should work. BC9500 works wirks BV7-40 using a BL converter and BC9500 works with MCL system. I have a BC9500 myself. BTW the Xtra TV kit and the MCL2 AV are the same product, Xtra TV kit is just without transceiver. Another option should be a Beolink video, connected with your LX and directly masterlinked to your BV7.

The Beolink video option is not suitable for my particular setup without extensive re-wiring but yes, when you look at the individual parts everything should work the way I have it installed as you say. The 1611 converter will work with newer products as it does with the Avant.

    Thanks for the help.
