B&O speaker switch - how do I use it?

I forgot I had 2 of these (ebay impulse buy) but don't know how to set them up as I only have the tech specs/details and not a manual.  I intended to set up a 'speaker wall' and connect a series of speakers into one amp to show how different the speakers are and thought these would be ideal.  Are they from a dealer?  Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dave.

They would have been from a dealer and usually with a some other kit. There was a couple of different varieties.

Been trying to get hold of one of these for a while?  Want to sell one?

I thought as much and would love to know what other 'kit' is needed to get them up and running.  I'm likely to put one on eBay soon along with some other stuff as I only really need one.

    Hi Dave.

I have one, and although I don't use it at the moment, it's a great bit of kit if you have different speakers in the same room.

All you need is the unit, a power supply and an IR eye of the correct type.

It can work passive or active speakers, or a combination of both.

It works by pressing Shift, Phono and a number 1-8

    Have a look HERE

    Hi Jandyt,

sheer genius.  I was hoping someone could tell me.  Which IR eye does it use though?  I can find a power supply and I have a few Beolink 1000's lying around - to go with the 6 BEO4's I have (I really must rationalise some things!).  I've been given permission by Debby to convert 1 room of the house into a B&O listening room - so now I have to decide which of the over 350 pieces of B&O equipment goes in there for use or display!.  I got my 2 speaker switches from ebay as a job lot a few years ago (including the schematics/service manual if anyone needs a copy).  I couldn't find it on the products pages though.

    Thanks again and happy listening.

    Dave.

Re: B&O speaker switch - how do I use it?

    Hi Dave.

The IR looks identical to the MCL IR, but it's not the same.
It has a 6 pin DIN lead, but only pins 1,3+5 are used.  The number on mine, is 8712009.

Be careful that you get the polarity right with your power source. The center is positive,
If you have two boxes, they link together by a special cable which carries the power source too, so you only need one.
You can then use numbers 1 to 16 (this is why there is a 3 second delay, to give you chance to press a second digit)
