    BeoCom 6000 handset problem

    Dear all

I seem to have a faulty BeoCom 6000 handset. It often rings once and then cuts out completely on incoming calls or if it does continue to ring it will not answer. Also when you try to get a dialling tone for an outgoing call you get a very loud engaged-type tone and the phone refuses to do anything useful.

Is this a known fault and can it be fixed? I have 2 other handsets working with no problem. The system is the older style with the square black PSTN base and I've just done a search on here and it appears I have a Mk.1 handset. The battery appears to be fully charged.

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated before I try my local dealer for assistance.

    All the best,

    John

Take a battery from one of the working handsets and place it inside the problem handset, faulty batteries cause a "beeping" when hook key is pressed.

if you have no joy message me and i'll send you the code to reset your handset to default and see if that clears any error's but try the above first.

Great, thanks. I'll give this a try and see what happens.

    Best wishes,
