    BL4000 with red cover

    Hi

Does anyone know where to buy red cover to a pair of BL4000?

It must be the same red as on the BL9, which the standard red for BL4000 is not. the red for BL4000 is more Bordeaux I think.

    Thanks.

The old red for the Beolab 4000 was the darker red. The current red for the Beolab 4000 is the same, bright red as for the Beolab 9. You can special order the cover as a spare part from your dealer. You will need the front cover, which simply clicks into place, as well as a pair of oval covers for the top and bottom, which have a strong adhesive tape. If you replace the covers yourself, be prepared that the former stick-on top and bottom covers will be destroyed in the process. You'll need a screwdriver or other tool to pry off the old top and bottom. You'll also need a sharp knife to remove the residue adhesive from the speaker before applying the new stick-on top and bottom.

This thread got me to thinking about changing the color on a pair of our 4000s. My dealer has confirmed for me the availability of all the parts.

    Hi Beojeff

So you mean that besides changing the fabric covers you can also change the polished metallic front, side and bottom parts? Could you please confirm. Thanks

    Re: BL4000 with red cover

    Hi Beofab

Yes you can! There are three coloured sections, upper, lower and front. The front is a machined piece which unscrews and the upper and lower are bonded on - You have to damage these to get them off as they are bonded on with strong adhesive tape.

    Hope this helps.

    Sound really interesting.

The original question was because my dealer must have showed me an old model of the color, as it was not the same as my BL9 color.

If you can change the metal parts, could you then also get a white model of the BL4000?

Looking at the B and O page, silver with a white grill is available.

White fret, silver alu. You can't anodise a white colour!

There is nothing to stop you buying a set of the metal sections and having them powder coated or painted by a bodyshop however :)

    They'd look great in white....

    Re: BL4000 with red cover

I am thinking of switching a pair of 4000s to the blue on our 9s and 7-4. I have some matching blue fabric from a BV 10 grill i recovered so may try using that to recover the grills/frets in matching blue.
