    Forum Posting Issues

How many others are being plagued by the "Forum Unavailable" message when posting and have to try two or three times before success?

This took me three goes to post!

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

Same here.  I'm on a new network due to a house move, and initially put this all down to the new (non fibre optic) network. But I can also access a 3G network and the same issues arise.

Problem reported to Gandalf, aka Keith - our Web Wizard.

What we'd do without him makes me shudder to think..   He's away on business at present, but rest assured knowing Keith - it'll be looked into whilst eating a sandwich, juggling paperwork, making a coffee, shuffling paperwork, writing programs - all whilst driving down the M1.

Forum has been unavailable several times today: message was that the site could not be found rather than Beoworld's own unavailability page. (Other sites were accessible so it wasn't my network.)

    Re: Forum Posting Issues

My apologies to all members who have been having problems recently connecting to, and using the forum.

Since returning on Monday from a short holiday I have been looking into the issues. It turns out that there was two unrelated problems which have occurred over a similar period.

    • The first problem is/was outside the control of Beoworld and is/was due to a network failure which apparently only effected some ISP's (Internet Service Providers) depending on their routing to the US. These problems appear to be fixed now, but only time will tell.

    • The second issue appears to have been caused by the Microsoft IIS Server having a problem with the assigned "Application Pool" for Beoworld. This pool is normally recycled every 1740 minutes, but very late on Monday night it was changed to 180 minutes (3 hours) which appears to have increased the system performance and response time.

I will continue to review the situation over the coming week.

    Regards Keith....
