Beosystem 5500 moving from USA to UK...

    Hi Guys,

I may be moving back from the US to the UK next year and was planning on selling my US 5500 system and getting another over in the UK.

However... my wife wants me to keep the current one. I figure they are a little too old to switch voltages automatically though right? Most appliances made in the last 10 years seem to but I figure a 25 year old Hi-Fi won't do this. Am I right?

I have a pretty hardcore step down convertor back at my mum and dads in the UK which I could use, but I figure I'm better off just selling this US system and getting a UK 5500 system one when I get there.

It's a bummer as the prices seem to be a little steeper for those old systems in the UK than USA. Keep seeing Beogram 5005 / 5500's for £250. I bought mine here for $250. It's like a pound per dollar!

    Thanks!

    Kris

Bting it to the UK, it isn't too difficult to convert the transformers to run 240V on these.Smile

    Chris.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

    Oh really?

How much technical knowledge would I need?

    Thanks for your help!
