    Terminal 3000

    I'm after a Terminal 3000 for my Beomaster 3000-2.

Anybody who can offer me one in mint condition? Have a Beomaster (2400) control module remote to swap or a fair price.

    Thanks, Leslie

    Re: Terminal 3000

The Beomaster 3000-2 (1970's upgrade of Beomaster 3000) have no remote capabilities.
Are you sure that yours aren't the later Beomaster 3000 (1980's with touch controls) ?

Most probably it's the 80's Beomaster. I already have one Terminal my self as well. Was hard to find.

    Best regards

    Hi Martin,

Sorry for my late reply since I had to wait untill the BM3000-2 came in.

This receiver is really in a super mint pristine condition and all functions are working, even the lights. I took the front apart and cleaned it, also the inside was full of dust. I connected a Cona and CX50 to the receiver and the sound is amazing!

I really thought there was a remote available for this one. I have a BM2400 as well with a commander. Must have been confused!

What a nice radio, looks great !
    The white version is rare.

    Thanks Martin,

Never knew that the white one is rare.

There is not one single scratch on the alum. parts and the white housing only has one tiny little dent which hardly can be seen. Even the famous envelope was under the hood (left it closed).Smile

The Cona and the CX50 are also in pristine condition. The CX50 foam surrounds are also original and not refoamed. They still look in great shape and totally no signs of foam-rot. Is that possible? Was there a batch in B&O production where no foam rot occurs on these CX50's?

Other question is regarding to the BM3000-2. There is some humming coming from the transformer. Ist that normal? It does not come from the speakers.

    Re: Terminal 3000

The 1970's B&O are generally rare to see in white. I believe they were considered "cheaper" looking
than the "elegant" wooden finishes and most white versions were actually slightly cheaper.
Today, the white models are sought after, not only by collectors, and many people regard them as
    being more timeless design pieces.

All CX50 will develop foam rot and if yours still have the original woofers, they will fall apart when
you touch them. Even NOS (New Old Stock) woofers will have foam rot, even if never used.
If yours are OK, I'm sure they are replacements - which is of course fine.

The Beomaster 3000 and 3000-2 transformer is often humming. The transformer will do fine and
the Beomaster will play on nicely but the humming will grow annoying with time.
The transformer is cast in a metal case and - at least until someone comes up with a reproduction
transformer or some other fix, the only solution is to find a transformer from a donor Beomaster or
simply live with it. You can dampen the coupling to the furniture on which the Beomaster is placed slightly
by fitting a couple of foam blocks underneath the Beomaster but don't cover the ventilation holes
    in the bottom plate.

    Martin,

Have touched and rubbed the surrounds and they still feel solid and firm and I think no replacement, looks like the originals!

    Thanks!

    Re: Terminal 3000

    Looks fine, I agree.
The replacements I was thinking about was also original woofers.
Just factory new ones rather than some that stood on the shelf for 20 years.
I think these are recent original replacements.
    A good buy !
