    BM8000 veneer and paint stripper?

    Dear fellow beo-enthousiasts,

Since yesterday I am the proud owner of a huge beomaster 8000 receiver! After the 80's BM3000, finally an amplifier that does the M100's justice. I am thrilled with the sound!Cool

The previous owner has painted the veneer of the 8000, and the beocord that came with it, with thick black piano laquer. The veneer has no dents, and I'd rather have the rosewood, so I want to take this laquer off somehow. Is it safe to use paint stripper or will this take the veneer of the beocord and master off along with the black stuff?

    Thanks!

nevermind guys. I was curious and tried paint thinner: worked a treat! Took a lot of polishing but the BM is back to its old glory!

You're getting good in this paint stripping business! Smile

Apparently you got lucky with the type of paint that was used, they are seldom soluble like that once they have dried.
