My beogram 5500 mmc2 cartridge plays with distortion,but when i push down on it it plays fine.

Can soundsmith rebuild it .Or a new smmc2 is my only option.

Axel can certainly rebuild it - he did one of mine which had a snapped cantilever - I think soundsmith can as well though I don't now the comparative costs.
