    S60 or 3702 ?

    Hi, everyone!

There are a not bad condition S60's for sale at the moment for EUR 400.

Will it be an upgrade to my 75' Beovox 3702 (3-way), bought for the same money in perfect condition?

What is the sound difference between these models? The S60 are said to be not too accurate.

To my opinion, the 3702 sound highly-musical with BM5500 and BGCD50.

    Thanks!

400 Euros is an obscene amount of money for some S60s. Try some MC120.2s instead - a much better speaker and surely you could pick some up for 100ish Euros if you're lucky :)

    I agree  with John!

I know second-hand B&O can be hard to find in Russia but 400 euros is a lot of money for a pair of S60's. I would be inclined to pass them by and enjoy the speakers you already have.

Thanks, guys- will pass them, and will try to find something really valuable, as my 3702 are simply fantastically enjoyable, and the S60 design to me is not that hot.

But the MC120.2, same as S55, S80 etc have the dome midrange, that do not like that much in home speakers, while my 3702 and the S60 have the cone midrange, having softer sound.

Please, tell if I am wrong, and what speakers from B&O would you recommend to look for.

    Thanks!

I like S60/75s and I would have them rather than S120s personally. S120s are more accurate but I like S75s in particular. 400 Euros is a ridiculous price - I can only imagine that they have the trumpet stands and are perfect. Still about twice the maximum that anyone should pay.

For a real upgrade, look for M75 or M100s.

    Re: S60 or 3702 ?

Well...again, my BM5500+BGCD50 costed me EUR 550, Tape recorder BC5000- "just" EUR 75, as it is in worst condition, and is taken to close the hole in a rack, until I find a Beogram CD5500 as a second CD-player. The Beovox 3702 I've taken for EUR 400, and all those prices are more than typical for Russia...

Regarding the speakers, having revised the 70's-80's range, I consider the M70 and M75 to be the most interesting, right?

    Thanks!

M75 and M100. The M70 was an earlier model. You need quite a big room for M100s to work at their best. Superb bass.
