    LX/MX - support RGB?

    Hi,

I was looking through the DVD1 manual, and it says that if you connect it to a MX or LX TV, you should set it to CVBS.

Why is that? I was almost certain that the TV supported RGB...

    Re: LX/MX - support RGB?

MX series TVs support RGB, I know for sure, as I have two of these, but picture is a little bit darker then in CVBS mode. It looks like you put black/gray foil on your screen. The picture is sharper, of course.

    Hi, i might be mistaken,

but i was under the impression that (at least MX7000) doesn't support RGB over SCART.

    Re: LX/MX - support RGB?

I have a MX7000 connected to a Hitachi DVD-recorder, and I believe the DVD-recorder is sending out an RGB signal.

When I press "Menu" the picture get a little brighter and moves little sideways, and then I can adjust the colours, brightness and contrast but when I leave the menu the picture is exactly the same as it was before I went into the menu (darker, and moves a littlie sideways) Is it the same with your TV, BeoIce?

I thought that it was RGB because I have read on Beocentral, that the TV cannot adjust colours, brightness and contrast in RGB, only in CVBS.

But if the TV supports RGB, why does B&O say that the DVD1 should be set to CVBS?

I had the exact same thing with both dvd-hdd-recorder and set-top-box, not able to set colours and so on. (on MX7000 IT)
After setting both to "video", the picture became more clear, brighter colours and i could save these settings.

My LX5500 supports RGB but is much better when fed with a normal PAL composite signal. Inputting an RGB signal via either scart also causes severe interference to the picture from the TV tuner

Remember the LX and MX series is from a time where noting used RGB, thats the resent the CVBS and S/Vhs is better (need a separate cable for S/vhs).

No problem with RGB on Mx 8000 ..

    Re: LX/MX - support RGB?

The LX/MX support RGB, but on some models (for example the LS/LX4500/5500) the RGB input sensitivity is a bit low which makes the picture a bit dull unless your source (dvd player or settopbox) allows you to adjust its RGB output level. I've been told there is a known mod/fix for this problem.

    Re: LX/MX - support RGB?

Ahh... But why didn't Beo just adjust the RGB output level on the DVD1?

I can understand why on the older sets, as david707 says, RGB causes severe interference to the picture from the TV tuner...

But why not RGB on the newer sets? I guess we will never know...

    Two more questions:
    Does the DVD1 support DVD-R or DVD+R?
Does the DVD1 work with LX2500?
