Has anyone else noticed when you go direct to http://forum.beoworld.org it seems to take ages to get there

is there a routing issue somewhere?

I have noticed an obvious delay too Seanie. It gets through in the end but is just slower than elsewhere.

Pinging doesn't tell much as both servers apparently have been configured to not reply to it.

But yes, the forum server has lately been slower to respond here as well.

yeah thinking about it i was attampting to check for slow responce times but all i got was denied which as you say indicates the firewall/server ignores ICMP.

its annoying as the normal site is quick and fine but the forum is very slow to respond and sometimes does not respond.

No problems here, but then the Australian day sort of matches your nighttime -- one reason I always the Wednesday night evenings :((

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Re: Connecting to forum very slow

The Beoworld Forum is on a server in the US and the Beoworld Web site is on a different server in the UK.

The Beoworld Forum has been running at normal speed and there have NOT been any recent failures.

However, I have noted recently that the traffic between the UK and the servers in the US has been very high, so this is likely to be the cause of the issue for some European based members.

The only exception to this is if you press the HOME button at the top of the forum or you have bookmarked it in your browser, then you may get the Standard forum Error message, this is where the response is too long and so it times out. Pressing teh Forum button immediately takes you back to the forum.

    Regards Keith....
