I would like to know whether anyone here could indicate a source for Beocord 8000, Beocord 9000 new old stock motors. They were very high quality Matsushita ones.

The replacement ones are not servo (tacho) controlled and they are not double-shielded like the old ones. All this affects performance of course, and noise. The single capstan arrangement was an advantage according to B&O notes, but only with those motors!

For instance, you couldn't dectect any speed differences when winding or rewinding with the old motor. The new ones complain under the strain...

What do you do exactly? Are you able to change brushes and bearings?

Anything, except rewind the armature - if that's shot, then I can't help you.

You can test the armature windings by connecting a "ring-tester".
