    Beomedia1-Digital sound???

Sorry guys, but i have a connectivity issue again. I have connected my Beomedia1 to my bv7-32 through VGA to DVI cable.

Sound comes from audio out of BM1 to L/R in of BV7-32.

    Question:

Is it possible to have digital audio from BM1 to BV7?

Because when i connect it from SPDIF output of BM1 to A1 Digital Audio in of the BV7,  no sound can be heard.

I have assigned of course A1 to PC from the Connections Menu.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Doesn't the latest software automatically download into the Beomedia 1 (or are you referring to the Beovision 7?

    Hi,

Sorry for you, but the problem comes from BV7-32, not BeoMedia.

BV7-32 is one of the few BeoVisions that only accepts AC3 signals from the SPDIF inputs, and since your audio outputs on BeoMedia are sending PCM signals, your TV can't decode them. So you have to stick to analog sound, or buy another TV (I have the same problem, I bought a BV7-32)...Surprise

Thanks Chris. It gets more and more frustrating with this TV..... And i suppose a SW update of the BV7-32 would not help at all....???!!

Sure the PCM update is not available, it was for the early BV7-40?...  Worth checking into...

I posted something a while ago here...

BV 7-40 and BV 8 all accept PCM signal on their SPDIF inputs, it's only BV7-32 that is the poor man's TV in that caseStick out tongue, there was never an update, there was also a long thread on BeoWorld about this a few months (years?) ago, I don't know why this TV can't do it, since my older BV3-32 can play both PCM and AC3 from SPDIF inputs..quite frustrating when you bought the TV, thinking it would be an update for your old CRT..

I am not 100% sure, but I belive that the S/PDIF-socket was still inactive / "for future use" on the last S/W-update for the BM1.
