    Rania 2 Gang

Can anyone help me control my non B&O 2 gang Rania?

The current file on Beoworld seems to control both gangs so doesn't allow for independent control of the 2 lights.

The hard keys on the Beo5 don't seem to do anything either.

    Thanks

    Re: Rania 2 Gang

    Anyone?

I know Lutron do a IR remote for the 2-gang Rania which controls each gang independently. Surey that means that this can be done via a Beo5?

    Thanks

    Re: Rania 2 Gang

The Lutron Rania have a little known feature which allows for more than one unit to be used to provide a scene feature as with the more expensive Grafik Eye units.

Also, both gangs will be controlled because they are both the same product address, this would happen with the Lutron remote as well.

Therefore I suggest you program the Rania's for different scenes which will mean that whilst both units will react to a button push, the units will do the pre-programmed function.

For example, I have two non B&O Rania's outside my bathroom and I have programmed the coloured buttons with one of 4 scenes. when I press the red button the two Ranias receive the same IR code from the Beo5, however one Rania turns the lights down to very dim and the other provides full brightness.

The downloaded XML file does not have the hardkey assigned, but you could add them if you wish.

    Regards Keith....

    Re: Rania 2 Gang

Thanks for your advice as always Keith.

Are you absolutely sure that both gangs cannot be controlled independently?

If so, why would they make a dual remote?

Well, yes if you have a standard non B&O Rania. However, you can buy a dual Rania as you say with an associated dual Lutron remote. If you have one of these units, then you could try the XML file HERE to control it.

Also you may wish to review the Lutron document HERE which shows you how to use the advance functions to create a "scene" with two or more Rania units. It should be noted that download you used is for this arrangement.

    Regards Keith....

    You're a diamond Keith!

I'll give the XML file a go when I'm home.

    Thanks as always
