    Powerlink cables

I just bought a house with a B&O speaker system mounted in the walls of several rooms.  In living room there are 4 cables coming out of the wall (as pictured above).  Do these cables connect directly to a Beocenter 8500 or 9500 to run this speaker system? Or will I need some sort of adapter?

Thank your for any helpful information.

    Re: Powerlink cables

The pic is rather small... looks like 2 and 3 pin plugs...

The 2 pin would be in SPK1 slot to drive local speakers, the 3 pin would be in SPK2 to drive a link system.

Also, neither of these are "Powerlink cables." I would refer to the 2 pin as: Speaker cable [not to be confused w/ Speakerlink!], and the 3 pin as: Master Control Link cable.

If you are interested, there is a good bit of info over here for link setups!

You have an MCL2 type set up - it will be interesting to know what else you have around! These conduct amplified signal around the house. A 9500 would be a perfect device for this type of set up as would a Beosystem 7000.

Kinda have two discussions of the same topic goin on now, but I'm gettin good info so I will just go with it.

Attached pics again of everything that I have found in the house thus far.

First pic, Volume dial, light switch, and B&O box above with mute and start.  Second pic, typical speaker that is mounted in several rooms.  As I said there are probably 12-16 speakers throughout the house.  When I removed the volume control from the wall it had a small box attached to the back of it with several wires going in and out.   I am truly an amateur when it comes to these things.  From what I have gathered it sounds like there is a good chance all I need to do is hook this system up to a Beocenter 9500 and it should work, and a small chance I may be missing something.  Is this a decent assumption?

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    Hello,

Why don't you just contact the previous owner and aske what set-up they had and maybe get some more details on how the experienced using the system...

    Cheers

I wish it were that easy.  The previous owners did not install the system and they knew little about it.
