    Maintenance - Beolab 2

My BL2 is around 5 years old.  It says 090904 on the box.  I was always worried about the rubber drivers degenerating over time, as with the BL3.  So I put tire dressing on it.  It nourished the rubber and is supposed to prevent cracking.  It also blocks out UV.

Too bad I can't listen to it.  It's not connected to anything at this time.  I'll just have this great sub sitting in a box in my closet.

Just thought I'd share regarding the rubber treatment.

    A good day to all!

Have a Lab 2 of the same age but never thought of doing this, the rubber seems like sturdy as hell...

    Curious for the comments.

They sounded fine before I did it but now the rubber is blacker.  There was no oxidized rubber on the cloth so I don't think it was necessary.  The treatment I used is water based.  Petroleum based would probably destroy them.

    All the best.
