    Aluminium Turntable Corrosion

Despite having been careful not to scratch or damage the aluminium surface of my 1203 turntable platter, recently a number of fine whitish streaky marks have appeared. I am guessing that this may be some sort of breakdown of the anodized finish resulting in local oxidising. Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, found a solution?

I am considering using an anti corrosive spray (silicone or WD40) followed by wax polishing just in an attempt to stop things deteriorating further.

    Re: Aluminium Turntable Corrosion

Anyone got any recommendations? I've spotted a suggestion that using a cooking oil might be a safe way to treat the aluminium surface, but there are also plenty of tales of the special B&O anodizing being wrecked by different treatments.

Does anyone have a safe recommendation?

Does anyone know what B&O typically do/ did with their aluminium platters? (Anodizing, polishing then transparent matt lacquer????)
