iTunes 8.2/MAC and BeoPort playlist problems`

I've downloaded iTunes 8.2 and now I can't get my N.Music to access anything but the main Music library

and the iTunes DJ. . . my other playlist aren't accessible from the remote or any of my link stations. .

    any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Oh! Blast it.  Rats!

I've set up my Mac Mini to NEVER update software precisely to avoid these sort of issues... yet the other day I wasn't thinking properly and updated the whole blasted thing.  Your post triggered a five-alarm in my head so I rushed to see...

Just like you, I've lost Beo4 access to all playlists other than main MUSIC and iTunes DJ.  Thank goodness N.RADIO at least still works.

Sort of a temporary workaround.  Set iTunes DJ to use as "source" the one of your playlists that you wish to use.  At least that way you have main MUSIC plus one playlist.

Rats!  E-mail to Anders Ödlund going out tonight...

    Hi Guys

I also recently updated to itunes 8.2 and have lost functionality with Beoport (though beoport never worked well for me anyway).

I've been waiting a few weeks for B&O in Sydney to get back to me- they need to check with Denmark.

I've also emailed Anders Odlund, but with no response. I've actually been waiting to hear from Anders since an email in January about another matter. I'm not sure he has any role or ongoing contract with B&O anymore.

I'm at the stage now where i wonder if I should give up on beoport and take it back to B&O.

People should keep raising this as an issue-- otherwise I suspect we will just be ignored.

    Hi Guys..

Any news??? No news this end, except 'head office are aware of the issue'. This doesn't really inspire confidence..

Anders Odlund appears to have vanished (well at least he hasn't responded to my emails or that of B&O in Sydney).

Maybe time to take all our beoports back and ask for a refund? I've had almost two years of constant difficulty with mine...

Update: since I figured I had little to lose, I upgraded to 8.2.1 tonight.

    Alas!, no joy.

Still unable to use the Beo4 to use any playlists other than MUSIC (main) and iTunes DJ.  Workaround  of selecting any given playlist for iTunes DJ to use as source remains.

People under versions earlier than 8.2 are strongly advised to not upgrade to 8.2 nor later.

    Hi All

Still no news on any resolution to the itunes 8.2 issue.

Head Office are apparently 'looking into it'....

    Has anyone else heard anything?

I haven't verified myself, but it was said that BMLINK controls iTunes using a set of ApppleScripts that are stored within its "Package". If these scripts are not compiled, they can be edited an modified. Maybe someone could try fixing those scripts. I'll have a look this weekend if I have some time. P.

    Hi Phil

That would be great if you could find a solution.. I'm no technician here, however would be great if you could assist.

Might be worth a bottle of Champagne!

It might be useful if all adversely impacted contact B&O.  Here are my complaint and response received:

    Dear Mr (omitted),

We are pleased to see that you are the owner of BeoPort. We regret that the BM-Link is not updated with the new version of iTunes. We do not have a solution for you - unfortunately. The only temporary solution is to down-grade your iTunes in order to get the playlists again.
We will look into this problem and will get back to you with an answer.

    Kind regards

    Hello,

After I installed iTunes 8.2, my BeoPort ceased to be able to access the various playlists on my Macintosh with OS X 10.5.7. BM-Link should be updated to remain compatible with the latest iTunes version.

When do you think Anders Ödlund will update BM-Link?

    Thanks,

I have looked at it this weekend, unfortunately, the applescripts are not embedded in the executable file in a readable manner, so they cannot be modified :-(

My thanks also Phil.  I am still waiting for a reply from B & O.  Why are they so very slow in replying to a query.  You would think a premier company of this quality would be on the ball.  And why are they still advertising it as being fully compatible when it clearly is not.

Placing an older itunes version on the computer would disable certain functions of my iphone.  Come on B & O sort it out.

With the older versions, how were the playlists accessed from link rooms?

    Beovision 7-55 with Beolab 7-4, 9s and 4000s

    Beovision 10-40 with Beolab 1s and 6000s

    Beosound 1, 5, 2000, and 3000

Hit blue button on Beo4, hit ">>" (="next").  Used to take you to the next playlist on iTunes versions prior to 8.2.

After 8.2, the same action takes you from "Music" to "iTunes DJ" only.
