Master Control Panel 5500 not linking with amp

    Hi,

I am a newbie to the world of B&O but have finally got round to setting up my MCP 5500. I have been trying to link it to my 5500 amp but haven't had any luck?? Unfortunately, I don't have the mcp 5500 instruction manual so I am a little stuck and was wondering if any of the knowledgeable folks on here could help me out?

    Hi Simon

    Welcome to Beoworld!

If the Beomaster and MCP are working OK (and the batteries in the MCP are OK) you should be able to work the basics (volume, change source, etc) without the manual - there's no setting-up or linking-up process involved. What happens when you press any of the buttons? Do the words "No Contact" appear? If so something is not functioning correctly.

If you do need a manual I would throughly recommend you upgrade your membership to Silver for £15 - this will allow you access to virtually all the B&O manuals you'll ever need!

    Cheers

    Nigel

Remote control can be disabled on the Beomaster 5500.
I don't recall exactly, is it Sound-1-store on the Beolink 1000 to bring it back ?

Hi I'm new to Beoworld.  I've recently bought a Beomaster 5500 with an MCP 5500 and it sounds fantastic with my old beogram 1600.  The only trouble is that the MCP 5500 is a bit tempramental when you try to turn the volume down (I normally can't turn it down unless I first turn it up a step before turning it down).

Judging by the forum, the MCP comes in for some heavy bashing for being cumbersome and power hungry; therefore, I bought myself a second hand Beolink 1000 remote control for every day use.  However, it doesn't communicate with the Beomaster 5500.  I was just about to e-mail the person who sold it to me, when I saw this post.  could it be that I need to activate something to allow the Beolink 1000 to talk to my Beomaster 5500?

If it works with the MCP it should also work with the bl1000. Check the bl1000 (batteries etc), you can for example use a digital camera to see if the diodes emits any signal (the IR signal is visible on digitla cameras).

The BL1000 seemed to be transmitting ok when I checked with my digital camera.  I decided to try pressing sound-1-store and amazingly my BM5500 started to recognise the remote.  Where can I find a full listing of all these mysterious codes?
