    I think you are correct.

If the BM6000 have aux, it should not be a problem IMO.

But I hope someone more technically educated will response.

    Good luck

Well the Beomaster 6000 does have AUX on tape 2 however since the Beo4 and Beolink 1000 does not directly work with it you will have to switch to aux on your remote and switch on/control the Beomaster 6000 with Terminal 2035 if you got one or manually. I never tried this but I do have the option allthough the Beovision is a AV9000.

If the Beomaster 6000 has the IR code converter kit installed which is very rare then you can control it with Beolink 1000/Beo4. The trouble with that is the connection takes tape 2 in the setup + you have to find the IR kit second hand.

I nearly had the same problem and found a Beosystem 6500 which does the linking job much easier.

I know I will be unable to use the beo4 to control the bm6000 but would like to link them both up. So do I have to have it connected to the TP2 socket as thats where my cdx is at the moment. I could always put the cdx into TP1 though I suppose.

Also what option should the avant be in?

Cdx does take a RCA to DIN cord before tape 1 can be used but it could work.

Option wise could be 1 or 2. The Bm 6000 does not care.

    Re: Avant to BM6000

I'd quite like to try this with my Avant and Beosystem 8000. I have the Tape 2 socket spare as Tape 1 is filled by a Beocord 8004 on the DIN and a CDX via the RCA sockets. If I could get my hands on one of those mythical IR converters, what else would I need to hook the Avant to the BM 8000?

Anyone got an IR converter going spare?? ;)

    Re: Avant to BM6000

I got the IR converter kit but I still need a powersupply (might have one that can be used) and a cable with a blue LED on it.

If you look at the manual for the code converter you will notice that just to use the Beolink 1000/beo4 instead of the terminal you need to use tape 2 out to AUX in order to make it work. The remote signal goes from the blue LED to the IR reciver box and the tranciver to the IR reciver box.

NOTICE! for the Beomaster 6000 it needs to be modified a bit acording to the manual.

Now that's with the IR code converter kit. If you can do it without is the question. You will need to operate the BM6000/8000 manually.

To hook a newer Beovision to it must follow the basics which is a 1611 converter to AUX and then to Beosystem of choice.

I'm not giving up on my IR converter box as yet. The main trouble for me is the fact if I want to use MCL82 links I need to locate a Beolab kit which has to be used in the setup. Just as rare as IR code converter I guess. I haver never seen a picture of one either.

To do the linking around the flat I got a Beosystem 6500 which is so much easy to locate X tra speaker kits for.
