I'm not sure Beo needs more speakers, they have it pretty covered if you ask me.

As Koning said, it would be great with an upgrade to the BL8000 and the BL6000. These are wonderful design-wise and would deserve an upgrade.

Re: Any new BeoLab in the near future?

From my point of view the "stereo" section is pretty much in a good shape (Lab 5, 9, 3). Without any doubt, the lab 2 needs an update! With the new acustic lens spreakers the lab 2 can not keep up anymore.

Also the Lab 7.4 as a center is not a bad speaker at all, however, also a little bit week for the lab 5.

So I would update the lab 2 and a more lab 5 type of center.

P.S. and a new Belab 2000 would be nice as well

Well, I'm pleased to see that Kalle Hvidt-Nielsen has decided that Acoustic Lenses are the future of B&O speakers. They are unique to B&O, they produce magnificent sound, and it's definitely possible to expand on the concept.

I also think the BL5 can be upgraded, particularly when it comes to native processing of sample rates above 96kHz - the absolute high-end in controllable speakers has moved on, with both Meridian and Audio Physics having developed variable control speakers that are adaptible for absolute bespoke adjustments. The rumours from B&O about integration of more sophisticated DSP are encouraging in that respect, whether the control is in the speaker or in a stand-alone audiomaster, doesn't matter - as long as we get it!

But the mere fact that Acoustic Lenses are now front and center is the best news possible.

This is what he says: Discover Bang & Olufsen’s Acoustic Lens Technology, which is essential for the outstanding sound quality across our entire product portfolio.

I think that the beolab 8000 is the bestselling loudspeaker for B&O.

    Not the beolab 5.

Why don't they Upgrade this beautiful loudspeaker.

let's face it,the sound is not very good of this loudspeaker,if B&O makes the soundQuality has it should be,they sell much much much more.

And not only to the regular B&O people!

But BL 8000 is updated (with better base I believe). I don´t see the need for more updates. Don't think they will sell more of them because of an update.

No, but a face lift along with an upgrade would surely sell more speakers

There are well-known acoustic problems with column speakers, that it is very hard to do anything about; it's also a much imitated design. When they first came, they helped B&O stand out, not so much any more. Maybe adding acoustic lenses would be a possible evolution for the BL8000 ...

I believe (adding bass) is what Daniel meant above, which is what they did with the latest revision. Not working on the base mount, but on the bass resolution.

Sorry for my spelling error. Of course I meant BASS and not base.

ALT on BL 8000? Not for me please.

The BL2 certainly doesn't need Acoustic Lens Technology. It is a sub, and bass will not benefit in the same way from ALT.

I think the speaker range is really good.

I could wish for another, more conventional centre speaker, than the BL7-4 and the BL10, which has ALT.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately the Beolab 10 is no option for me as my motorized screen would cover the speaker in the cinema mode. My 7.4. just stands on a low board and the screen drops down just a little bit behind the acustic lens.

I would agree with the link speakers, but don't see much point until they sorted out a wireless ML system that can be integrated.

I also would think between the BL3 and the BL8 we could fit one more acoustic lense set in, same for BL9 and 5.

Re: Any new BeoLab in the near future?

Don't you find it strange that the only BeoLab names still available are BeoLab 8 and BeoLab 6? And that the 2 iconic BeoLabs to date are the 6000s and 8000s? Don't you think B&O could upgrade those column speakers that take very little  space on the floor, with an integrated ALT in the column itself, with the fabric cloth hiding it, and not showing the lens, unlike what has been done so far? This would keep the design purity , and they could also fit ICE amps in those speakers, to finally give them decent bass levels by increasing the cabinet volume after using smaller amps with no heat sinks.

I would sell my Lab 3 right away if the 8000 came with ICE amps and ALT(and more bass!). And..how about making the 6 & 8 three-way speakers??

Moreover, I think there are 2 major BeoLab concepts missing in the present range:

    - a BeoLab with 2 ALT , for midrange AND treble, since only the Lab 5 offers 2 lenses for the moment, not even Lab 9 has 2 lenses.

    - a wall-mountable flat BeoLab to match the design of BeoVisions & BeoSounds, since all systems are now flat and wall-mountable, but now that everything is flat, there are no more flat panel speakers in the B&O range! And there is no need for impressive bass levels, since the Lab 2 can handle that. So a very compact design can do.
