Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
Hi,
Whilst I am still considering a BV1 as a link room TV connected to my BV7-40mk3, can I ask if people have a similar setup and how they find browsing to songs and photos from the link room TV like?
I presume that the BV7 wont have any trouble, but would the BV1 look all stretched? Can I have full control of the BM1 over the link?
Thanks

Re: Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
I am unsure if this will be the case as I haven't used one. However, I imagine that surfing the internet or reading text will be quite difficult on any CRT as the resolution is pretty poor.
Thanks
Graham

Re: Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
You can`t activate the BM1 from your BV1, because BV1, MX-beovisions and other older TVs do NOT understand the PC command. But you can activate N.MUSIC, N.RADIO from your BV1 - as audio source without picture. PC will work with newer TVs like BV6/BC6, BV8, BV7. You will have full control over the link. Hope this helps.

Thanks Stefan... that's not good news. I expected more from B&O, especially how they make linking things part of their achievements.
No worries. Thanks again

Re: Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
When you say activate N.MUSIC, does that mean that i would be able to see the mp3s that ive selected? or is it just next, previous, pause that i can only use and then be forced to navigate it blindly?
One last thing, can i have a timer start to use it as an alarm clock that the bedroom BV1 can wake me up with N.Music BUT from a specific playlist for example?

Would it not work if you configure the BM1 as V.AUX rather than PC on the main TV?

Re: Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
@tim
You control N.MUSIC, N.RADIO like you would control RADIO or CD, as audio source, without picture.
Yes, timer play is possible. You can select N.MUSIC or N.RADIO in the timer menu of the BV7. You can also select a number but I don`t think it will play a specific playlist - I never tried.
@phil
V.AUX would be the solution. But unfortunately the BM1-menu V.AUX is greyed out when BM1 is connected to a BV7. You have to configure it as PC....

Re: Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
As Stefan said BV1 can not understand command PC
You can use N.MUSIC/RADIO but you can not see anything. Same
as a link speaker
However, I have BV6-22 in my dressingroom and if I turn on BM1 with that, and
then go to my BV1 in kitchen I can pilot and see playlist etc etc.
It´s just that old BeoVision can not activate "PC"
If you buy a Beolink Ative and use it in the same room as BV1 you can have full acces to BM1
I must say that it´s pretty good picture on BV1 from BM1. You have no problem to read etc
On my BV6 it´s more poor, and that is because it´s LCD

Re: Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
Thanks guys, these are golden replies.
I suspect that the Active kit (IR eye?) has to be wired all the way to the BM1 in the lounge, since the BV1 would be in the bedroom. Basically so far Ill need to wire three cables from the lounge to the bedroom:
Masterlink, RF Antena cable and Active cable? I cant drill any walls, so running three cables (white) next to the skirting will just be ridiculous.
This is way an Apple TV would have been amazing, but shame ill need another toy to convert it to a Scart cable. Arguably a PS3 would work, no problrm but i cant control it via the STB of the BV1.
This is all like catch 22 and a billion!

Re: Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
How about attaching the BM1 to the BV7 in the lounge, and every time i want to interact with the BM1 via the BV1, I turn the BM1 from the lounge and then walk to the bedroom.
Would this turn the BV7 on as well, rather needlessly?

Re: Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
Hej Anders,
did you really try the Beolink Active solution? I had the same idea, bought an Active (1636) and installed in a room with an MX4000.
Yes, Beolink Active can understand PC and it activates the BM1 but without picture on the link.
But I could activate my BM1 in the bedroom (BV6-22) and control it via an AV9000 in another room.

Re: Linking a BeoMedia 1 (BM1) to a BeoVision 1 (BV1)
Yes complete BL Active
NO you connect it with ML, as you have to BV1. No more
Stefan: Yes it works. My dealer has done this when some costumer want another brand let´s say in bedroom, but will use Beo4 and the whole ML system

Mr Ansdersson... have you tried the trick above, to make it work from all room?

Yes, shure I know. I had Beolink Video for the MX AND Beolink Active for the BM1 (PC) but it didn`t work.
