could any AVANT VHS 32" owner tell me the default settings, for the picture geometry in the service menu, as I have messed them up rather badly :-/

I would advise: download a service manual.

There you can find some instructions about geometry.

Every tube has its own settings and are calibrated with the help of a computer in Denmark.
