    BV7MK3 Still has problems

after all the problems with BV7 and software 4.24 and tv crashes etc i have had my tv updated to 5.08 yesterday to fix the problem of sky HD getting out of sync and guess what it still does not work.

If i take the scart lead out the number buttons do not work on the beo4 to the sky box.

if i have the scart lead out the tv sends the "ON" command to the sky box everytime i switch the tv on so then every other time i turn the tv on it turns the sky box off.

having the scart lead in makes everything work properly so far

i thought in this day and age that scart could be left out.

    I am very un-happy with my BV7MK3

It probably uses the pin 8 signal to determine if the box is on or off.

What I don't understand is: what's the problem with having the SCART connected?

there is no porblem apart from being told that it would not need one.

Scart is being phased out slowly so you think a solution woudl be made

also dont see people with blue ray players connected via HDMI need to use a scart lead for STB Control

    Re: BV7MK3 Still has problems

    thanks for your reply

after reading it i tired something

i turned the power off and pulled the scart lead out and it seem to be in sync again and working as it shoudl without the scart lead.

perhaps if you use the scart lead it then gets confused / out of sync when the lead is removed.

Now the TV is doing as its told but i had to power reset the system and being with the lead out.

    Thanks

    Re: BV7MK3 Still has problems

Although this is of no help to anyone, I've had absolutely no further problems with my BV7-40 MKIII software, since being upgraded to sw 5.08. Mind you, it took over a year to get it right!

    Re: BV7MK3 Still has problems

As I said, it's completely resolved any outstanding issues, including the link room problems. All fine now.
