Welcome to Beoworld. You can help yourself if you tell us where abouts in the world you are based and what leads you to believe that this assembly is defective (it's not unknown for dealers/repairers to claim defective lasers etc on older devices when in fact they can be repaired).
Tell us more about your problem and I'm sure you will get all the advice or help you need.
