    Cheap and cheerful RIAA preamp

Big SmileHave just installed an Riaa preamp in an old Sony turntable(it was part of a stacking system - long gone but mother retained the turntable for some long forgotten reason) - this now works flawlessly with an Ouverture/ BC9300!

The unit is a Velleman kit K2573 - it needs a 10 - 30v clean dc supply and costs about £10 - £12  - used to be available thro' Maplin in UK - I purchased mine thro' Conrad.Fr here in France. It took less than an hour to build, more time to figure out the location in the Sony base etc!

With the 9300 I used it externaly with a separate power feed.

I cannot justify aquisition of a B&O unit as my meagre collection of vinyl is old / scratched etc and this unit of course was free!

I have a simple circuit for cleaning and stabilising the power supply - if anyone wants a copy pm me!

    salut

    Tony

I always try to operate using/following the KISS principle --  Keep it simple stupid!
