MasterLink connection: BeoSound 3200 (primary) <-> BeoVision AV 9000 (secondary)

    Hi!

Please help to set up the link options for BS3200 and BV9000 what are connected by MasterLink. I would like to connect the speakers to BS3200 and it must be the cause of the following problem. If A. Opt = 2 and V. Opt = 0 and I try to turn on TV set, the LED of BV9000 is only changed to green and the speakers are played the sound but the curtain is not drawn back. Thereby I can only hear the sound of the TV programs and can not watch any pictures...

P.S.: I connect the speakers to BS3200 because:

    1. I can hear a little bit of the sound from the speakers when they are connected to BV9000 even if I mute them (VOL = 0)!?!?!?

    2. I would like to use the timer of BS3200, but BV9000 has not timer, has it?

    3. I can not set up audio preferences so that BS3200 and BV9000 are switched on in the Dolby Surround Sound mode. Every time when I turn on BS3200 or BV9000, I have to change the sound mode manually (SOUND -> 5).

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I am not the best person to answer this. There are others here who know much more than I do. Have you tried setting both to option 1?  Just looked at our Avant's manual and it seems to show that as the option setting in a set-up similiar to yours.  I am not sure if that would allow TV sound to be played through the speakers however.

I think if they were both in Option 1, you could press TV or Sat to switch on the video source, the AV, TV or AV,Sat to hear throught the 3200.
Can't hurt anything by trying it.

Sorry, having just made that post, I had a little search and found that the AV9000 cannot be a slave, only a master. So it seems that it will not work.

If I'm wrong, someone will soon be along to correct me, I'm sure.

Can not be slave? Surprise It is a pity...

In any case what about the following strange things?

I connect front and rear speakers to BV9000 but:

    1. I can hear a little sound from the speakers even if I mute them at all (VOL = 0)!?!?!?

    2. Why is setup menu such short?
    - 1 TV program list
    - 2 Sound
    - 3 Picture
    - 4 Setup
    -- 1 TV tuning
    -- 2 Speaker balance
    -- 3 Viewing angle
    -- 4 Video source
    -- 5 Set clock
For example where is the "Timer"?
I can not use the timer of BS3200. I can only see "USE TV" on the display of BS3200 if I try to press TIMER button, but BV9000 has not timer!

    3. I can not set up audio preferences so that BS3200 and BV9000 are switched on in the Dolby Pro Logic mode. Every time when I turn on BS3200 or BV9000, I have to change the sound mode manually (LIST -> SOUND -> 5).

Is it correct works of BV9000? I ask because I bought the pre-owned TV set.

    Jleo,

The only way to have the items in this room function "as they should" is to have the television repaired. The reason you hear an audio bleed is a problem with the video board in the television. It should be a relatively modest repair and then you can connect the items as usual for optimal performance.

Any workaround is going to result in extra buttons, strange operation, incorrect sound settings, etc.

    Good luck!
