    Linking beosystem 2500

    Hi Guys

Have just purchased a beosystem 2500 wondering how to link it to the rest of our system? At present we have a Beocenter 1 master linked to a beolab 3500 via a junction box. Any help would be greatfully recived.

     Thanks in advance Paul

You need a type 1611 Beolink Converter which will fit between the Beosystem 2500 and your ML system. You can break into the ML cable with a ML junction box. All these items are available from your B&O dealer or on eBay

You also need a datalink cable and a fully wired (MKIII) powerlink cable between the beolink converter and the Beosystem 2500.

I would think it should be a MkII powerlink cable!

    Absolutely, MKII...

I just explained MKII were the fully wired in 2 other threads yesterday, and now I make the mistake myself!!!

Converters are often available on eBay and sometimes come with the cables as well. There is not much on eBay at the moment, best to wait and keep your eyes peeled.

Why did I think this thread was in French? I don't know!

Ouverture is not the same as Beocenter 2500, the ouverture as Masterlink, the 2500 has datalink, so you need a converter only for the 2500.

The 1611 has some extra features for the 2500, so that is the one you must use.

I have it in my system and it works fine.

But you do need the converter for the MX7000 Phil!

You would need the converter between a MX7000 (Datalink) and an Ouverture (Masterlink).

1611 is recommended in all cases over 1614.

    Re: Linking beosystem 2500

So, I do need a 1611 for the 7000 - ouverture link - i gather the 1614 will not work - is that correct? or is it suck and see - I'm back en France end of next week where the kit is so can give it all a whizz then

If you already have the 1614, try it. From what I know the extra features of the most recent 1611 are for the 2500, so the 1614 might work in your case.

If you do not have a converter and are going to get one, get the 1611 as it is the most recent one and works in all the configurations.

    Re: Linking beosystem 2500

Thanks for the help gents - i'll give it a whirl next week - in fact, have both 1611 and 1614 but the '11 was earmarked for another link system in another bit of the house to far to link in to this which is in the centre of an open plan living space with tiled floors and no walls to run links etc - will post pics when finished

You should also be able to join the Ouverture and the MX7000 together with an Aux link cable?

No the Ouverture is Masterlink, the MX is Datalink. You need a converter.

So does the Ouverture not have Datalink then?
