    Beovision 3 advice please

I've never had or used a B&O TV before and need some advice please.

    I've been offered a faulty 5 year old 32" Beovision 3

The fault is that after 20 mins the set switches itself off. Switching off and then on at the mains brings the set back to life for another 20 mins.... The picture is A1 whilst it's working. Has anyone come across this fault before and if so what was the cost of the fix?

Will a Beolink 1000 control it or does it have to be a BEO4 ?

How do I get the monitor service counters on the screen, and what would be a "normal" video hours count for a five year old set?

Any other advice would be gratefully received!

    Cheers

    Nigel

Nigel, it all epends on how much you are been ofered it for. BV3-32's seem to be going for around 450 on Ebay at the moment, with a Beo4. You could control it with the Beolink 1000, but I do not know if you would be able to access all the functions. Such as Format and Speaker  settings if has a DSS card fitted. Not sure about the fault as I avoid the insides of TV's. High voltages and me not having a cue are a bad mix to say the least.Laughing

It's not PIN protection Christian - the owner has had it from new - he's got the original receipt and PIN number.

Craig - I've been offered it for £150 (no remote) which I know doesn't seem a lot....but it is to me!

    Cheers

I would offer the seller £50 and take a chance that Tim can repair it for not much money.

    Regards Graham

Think I would have to agree with that. Plus I thought later Beovisions had modules which makes repair difficult.
