    Beolink 7000, "noise"

    Hi,

I just got hold of a Beolink 7000 and happily got it home yesterday.

However, I am a bit worried since the remote emits a very low but distinct high-pitched noise when powered up. The sound appears only when the remote is in use and it comes from the area around or "above" the battery compartment.

Is this normal and should (or could) I get it fixed right away?

Many thanks in advance for any advice!

    Thomas

Obviously noises vary, but mine makes a high pitched noise as well - I think it is actually the blue screen. It has always done this - I have had it since new!

this noise is quite normal, it's the transformer for the 130V voltage for the blue background.

It can be optimized by plastic spray or epoxy.

It is not very loud (or my ears are getting worse!) I have to put my ear to the 7000 as if it were a mobile phone!! Laughing

    Re: Beolink 7000, "noise"

Long time ago i used a Sony RM-AV2000 (touchscreen, blue background)
The noise it made was quite loud, i went back to the store,
got a new one, same noise !

As Die Bogener already pointed out, it was `normal`.

My Beolink 7000 however is very silent, i have to put my ear very close to hear it. Smile

Hi there! thought i should add this..

My 7000 remote has only JUST started making the buzzing noise (just as you describe) & only when the backlight is on, i have had it for 5 years since it was purchased from B&O completely refurbished (including the remote). the only difference is i have shipped it from Australia to Switzerland (professionally packed for shipping container) and plugged it in here in Switzerland (same voltage here as in Australia - as i understand).

it was in a quiet room in Australia, and as well here in Switzerland so im sure its a new sound.

Sorry to throw this thread up on its head but thought you might all like to know.

its a little dissapointing as its nice to have the room completely quiet to exprience the lovely clarity of a B&O, regardless i still loyally love this system - even with the annoying buzz.

    regards, Chris
