    Can Serene have SW updates?

    Hi all,

as it says...can the Serene have software upgrades? There was a software upgraded version of the mobile released at the end of 2006...but did that mean that the previous model could have the update downloaded into it too?

    Cheers.

Yes. When I had mine they updated the software and the firmware. At a guess, a  dealer will need to do it for you.

Re: Can Serene have SW updates?

Anyone who knows how to reset the password for the telephone? I bought mine second hand and it seems as if the previous owner changed the standard password ("000000000"). Not a big deal but it would be nice to be able to delete my entire call log for instance. I suppose there must be some kind of mastercode but my dealer (who I did not buy the phone from) were not able to find out.

    Regards,

    Emil

1.0C is firmware, FI1 is Software.

I would try and download the user manual PDF from the Samsung website to find the Password mastercode. I think this how I managed to change mine last year.

Re: Can Serene have SW updates?

Unfortunately no succes with the user manual. It only refers to the preset password "00000000" which, in my case, must have been changed byt the former owner.

I have updated the software due to some problems with the alarm clock and the T9 but that did not seem to do it with the password issue either.

Not a major issue for me but it reduces the functionality in some cases so if anyone has a clue, please let me know.
