any info on a BV7 that's larger than 40"?
Dear Gang, I want a Bang & Olufsen LCD flat panel with a BS3, but I need it bigger than 40". I'm fairly committed to the idea of an LCD over a plasma so the BV4 is less appealing to me. Has there been any recent discussion, rumor, or insight in to when B&O might come out with a BV7 that's larger than 40"? Or, do any of you guys with insider B&O info know when or if they might offer something like this (particularly in the US market)? Mark D

Re: any info on a BV7 that's larger than 40"?
Hello Dude1, Do you have any more details, or where can I find it? Perticular if it will be available without the built-in DVD. My dealer (Sweden) told me that a BV8 40" will be available for order here in November. (but that's not larger than 40", but still a LCD....) Cheers

Dude1, That's the first I've heard of a 52" LCD, but I'm darn glad to hear it. In fact, that'd be perfect for me. Any idea of how soon it might be out? Mark D

Will the new 52 inch use different stands or can it be mounted on the same motorized stand as the 40 inch?

Re: any info on a BV7 that's larger than 40"?
Dude1: Bang will be introducing a 52" version shortly..
This isn't the 'shortly' that was discussed in November 2007, before I bought my BV7-40 MKIII? We were discussing this ages ago - my argument against a 52" BV7 is that the 40" struggles with a high-quality SD signal - the norm for the UK and Europe - and a 52" would pixelate the signal more obviously. Basically, a 52" BV7 would be ideal for anyone who intends to watch HD signals only. Which rules our most the userbase. I spoke to my dealer today and they're now saying March 2009 for the BV7-40 Blu-ray internal drive. Someone only recently said it was out this month...

Re: any info on a BV7 that's larger than 40"?
Unfortuantly shortly is all I can commit to. Its a loose term, as im not too good at fortelling the future. The BangVision 7- 52 is in the pipelne and is being pushed through, for many reasons, including the important US consumer base. March 2009 for Sony BR is pretty accurate. Im usure whether the 52 will have the option of no DVD - pretty sure it will have DVD at this stage - to be finalised. Not entirely sure of pixelation on a BangVision....maybe replace your aerial...

Eh? I think you may need to watch a SD signal on a BV7-40 MKIII (1080p screen). It has to be scaled up for the LCD. Please. Can you stop being the only one in the world to refer to B&O kit as 'BangVision'. Why?

Moxxey, try a Topfield 5810 PVR which upscales SD to 1080i and gives a very pleasing effect on your BangVision.

The BS3 also upscales the incoming signal, so my BangVision has this facility built in. It does a pretty decent job on Freeview. However, anyone with a larger 52" screen will notice more pixelisation and 'effects' on their screen.

But if viewing distance to the BangVision is large then you shouldn't notice the pixelisation...

OlufVisions shows far more pixelation artifacts than VisionBangs sets does, basically due to some software faults, and everybody knows that. Serves you right...

You can fix that with a BangBeo upgrade kit... Dude1>> I really don't care whether you write Bang, Beo or whatever, I understand you completely, and that is the most important.

Re: any info on a BV7 that's larger than 40"?
Fellow B&O'ers, Just wanted to give an update as I've spent the past week talking with various dealers here in the USA as well as someone with B&O North America. I've been told that (at least here in the USA) there won't be a larger BV7 in 2009. I wish this weren't the case as I'll be on the market for a larger LCD after this coming Spring and I'd love it if the BV7 came in a 46" or 52". Mark D
