    cabinet question

The B and O catalog and web page show two cabinets available. A larger one and a smaller one.

What is the price of the smaller one? There is also mention of a glass front. How dark or how clear is the glass?  Is the cabinet strong enough that it could be used to house a 50-55 pound Monster Power Voltage Stabilyzer?  How many shelves come with it?

    Thanks!

    Re: cabinet question

    Hi,

I've just ordered the small cabinet, £525.00 for the cabinet and £175 for the door, i got the brushed silver/aluminium look door.  I couldn't tell you about the glass but fingers crossed will get it installed this afternoon, faililng that, Thursday. Happy to post pics once done, i think there is a few shelves inside. Mine is going to house my BS3, PS3 and Sky-HD box so i'd guess minimum 3.....plus hopefully space for cables.

    Ash.

WOW - the one question I could have helped with and Ash beats me to it!! I would add that I ordered mine, in fact the same as Ash's over two weeks ago and I still haven't got it. My dealer told me - after I called - that the door is the problem. Perhaps another 7-10 days?

I have the small one and I’ve just ordered a Monster AVS Power Stab. I do not think is a good ideea to install your Monster inside the cabinet. The weight will have a negative effect on the wood after few months....

I had also the glass in front but after 2 weeks I replaced with the ALUn one. It's a classic and IMHO it's the perfect combination in the long term.

    all sold!

Thanks!  I did not realize that the cabinets were wood. We currently have the Monster and other components in a BS1 cabinet but would now like something a little smaller.

EEK! The wire-fairy is well over due at your place!!Stick out tongue Great speakers you have there though, who are they by?

    Re: cabinet question

You should have seen it before the cabinet, i'm waiting to get my hand on some mesh wire tidy so hopefully in the next week it'll be looking a lot neater.

Speakers?? B&O off course (or are you pulling my leg). BL9's at the front and BL7-1 for centre and i have BL3's for rear.

It works a treat, with the one exception of being able to turn it on/off with the Beo4. We have the IR controller on the screen but it doesn't want to play ball. I think i might be going with the BV4-50 in the new year, in an attempt to complete the system, also to get rid of the ghastly glass stand i'm stuck with....

    Re: cabinet question

Hey, until then.... replace the GHASTLY glass stand with a huge long block of wood, or a simple low line cabinet...? It'll help keep things neat and nice?

You beat me too it with the sad comment, but hey, i'm sure they'll come in handy one day.

What i want to do is locate the cabinet on the other side of the room. However i'm stuck finding a cable tidy that will carry the hdmi for the screen, three powerlinks for centre and two fronts and ALSO the sensor cable for my Wii....think the sensor bar cable won't be long enough.

It does house the 7-1 nicely though, a perfect fit if you ask me. I think i'll hold out on a new cabinet. I'll get the BV4-50 and a floor stand, similar to the BV7 range so won't need a cabinet.....off course i'll have to upgrade the 7-1 to 7-2, much to my dealers delight.
