    BS 9000 question about versions

    Hello guys,

Long time since I've been here. Have been occupied with other makes for a while, but now I'm considering coming back to B&O with a bang, and getting a BS9000 and a set of Beolab 5 speakers...

So I think I'm going to buy the BS9000 used, so what version should I get? I'm not so sure I'm going to use the N-music thing, since I have a large CD collection, and enjoy playing CD's instead of music files.

With the beolab 5's I'm looking for sound quality. Is there any large difference between the different versions as to sound quality?

    Thanks

    Andreas

Re: BS 9000 question about versions

With regard to the BS 9000, the preferred version is the current Mk III, which have been manufactured since 2001.  You can identify them by their Type # = 257x, which is located under the lift-off control panel.  You can also spot them by the absence of a red on/off button, which the other versions had.  They have an improved CD mechanism, and the glass plate is more securely fastened.  They're fully compatible with N.Music.  They cost a bit more than the earlier versions but are worith it IMHO.

'Can't address your question about the BL 5's.
