    Beolab 8000 foam rot?

I was lucky enough that all my cherished, older items (all bought new years ago) were immune to all usual illnesses. But in recent days, a few did eventually default: the glass control panel of a Beocenter 9500 unglued, some pixels of a Beolink 5000 died, and I noticed foam rot in a pair of CX100. I recognise that nothing is eternal, so now I sadly expect more items to default. My biggest worry is a Beocenter 9500 CD-drive default, because spare parts are no longer available, but that is not the point here. My question actually is: should I ever expect foam rot in my 15-year old Beolab 8000 MkI? Is any service required from time to time?

Thank you for your advice, js

IIRC BeoLab 8000 uses rubber and not foam. So no foam rot there... Smile

It's not impossible for BL8000 to get foam rot, because of the Heat form the amp. but it happens rarely.
