Beosystem 2 NOW to be used with any display accepting RGBHV 576p 50Hz.

A Beosystem 2 will normally only start up if a known Plasma Display Panel (e.g. BV4 or Panasonic) is connected to the unit, because the BS2 after sending commands to the PDP is waiting for answers back from the PDP that the commands is recieved. After having looked at the asychronous RS232 protocol from the BS2 and the expected call backs from e.g. the BV4 display, I have found a very small tweak allowing the BS2 to start up with or without any screen.

Let me know (PM) if you encounter similiar problems

NB: In order to display signals from the BS the display must naturally accept RGBHV 576p 50Hz, which is the output signal of the BS2 - if not a small signal converter (e.g Cypress CP-251F) is needed.

    Erik,

Did you get the CP-251F to work? I tried one with a 60Hz TV and got nothing.
