Beosound 9000 problem with cd's spinning

Hi, i have a beosound 9000. For some reason the cd's have stopped playing. Will not spin, but will somtimes. Stays on Pause.

Do you think that it has something to do with the laser. I have downloaded the Service Manual to do the test modes but looks a bit technical.

Is this easy to do?, or shall i take to B&O?.

    Thanks

I use a dry cloth, wipe slowly and carefully removing as much as you can I suppouse, no special method as far as I know.

Keeping the 9000 free of dust is a bit of a mare to be honest.

I may be a bit of a thicky but I would assume that it is less prone to dust issues when mounted vertically rather than horizontally. True or not??

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

I thought I had all the bad luck...

@ Puncher... not sure... would not surprise me as I went from vertical to horizontal!

    Hi

Cleaned the lens with a cotton bud and anti-static cleaner. Done the trick and now works perfect.

    Thanks to all.

I have the same problem. It happened before and I took it in for repair. Cost me a small fortune. Now it happens again. I think it is the laser lens that gets dirty but I have no answer to that and was never told why.
