    Buy 7-32/7-40 now or wait

Does anyone have a clue on what will happen with the models (technically) and when?

     Best

As it seems, the 40" version will have a FULL HD panel in some months time, no news about the 32" version. I would definitly not buy a BV7 now. The integrated DVD player could become useless in a year, but it does not necessarily have to be so.

I can not see how the DVD player will become useless in a year.

I hope it will not become useless, and a year may be to short (you are right, it will not be useless in a year) for the Blue-Ray/ HDDVD battle to end, but once it has, if it will, then the DVD player will only play CDs and DVDs, but not the new format, which will be of superior quality.

What concers me, I am happy with the quality of DVDs, and the Blue-Ray/ HDDVD ballte may end as the Audio-DVD/ SACD ended, but who knows?

DVD players will be usable for years to come, definitely. The massive production of HD DVD's on either standard will have to hold on until there are enough players that justify the roll out.

I don't think the BV7 upgrade will include a non standard DVD. B&O is slower when it comes to jump to last generation stuff, they will think it twice before launching a product that will be obsolete too shortly (although they have done it recently, see BV5 and BV4 37").

I will expect a full HD panel for the 40" version in the next revision though. BV7 32" will take a while before the upgrade, mainly because at that panel size the definition difference is unnoticeable to most mortals.

     Cheers;

    Gustavo

    Malcolm,

Can you please inform about the 32" too, and let us know?!

BV7 is already HD ready. What we are expecting is the Full D model.

    Gustavo,

New 40" is not only about size, but also about extra inputs like HDMI?

So also the 32" will need the new panel with extra inputs!

Except when you watch HD signals on a BeoVision 7, most of the vision clear systems are bypassed I believe.

The difference we can expect will be like the difference between BeoSystem 1/2 + BeoVision 4 and the BeoSystem 3 + BeoVision 4. Massive difference in picture quality, especially when watching SD sources in regards to pixellation, and with HD in regards to colour balance and smoothness of movement...

Agree with you Rombeek. It would be disapointing not to have at least 2 HDMI sockets in BV brand new chassis. My salesman told me today that the new BV7 has no certain date to arrive, and that it may very well take 1 year. Of course he is trying to sell me a BV7 40". By the way he also mentioned that the new HDR with recordable DVD is to arrive in June, at less than 100€ more than the current cost of HDR2...

    Hi !

The Upgrade BV7-40 will have a full HD panel (1920x1080P), with built in BS3 and the same number of connections as the BS3.

The launch i europe will be  aug/sept 2007.

From insider (not confirmed) have been informed that the BV7  will be launched even with a  46" panel and a new speaker BL7-3, similar to BL7-2 but wider. You can off course instead choose the the BL7-4 as a alternative. Expect in stores at the end af year.

B&O continuosly improves their excesting  AV with the newest technology (panels etc.) in all its  lifetime without priceincrease, except yearly inflationrate 2-5 precent. So I don`t expect a big price increase with the new upgrade.

I don`t know what the price on 46" will be.

    With BV7 you suggest both 40 and 32" ?
