    Penta III display probs

Hi, more Penta issues to share beyond my Beolab amp probelm which turned uot to be a diode...

    http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/105509.aspx

Now one display has stopped working and I have isolated it to PCB22, the one which sits sandwiched with the main amp board PCB1 and has the smaller board with the line in sockets attached to it.

Has anyone had issues with this board before relating to the display, and fixed it?

    Cheers, Steve

Yes. Dead capacitor (the 470uf) with a shortcut killed the 4.7 Ohm resistor in the display.

    Re: Penta III display probs

Thanks for your answer, but I am confused - according to my diagram and component lists, there is no 470uF cap on PCB 22...

The display boards themselves work fine with the 'good' amp unit connected.  I swapped PCB 22 in the amps and it certainly seems to be an issue with that board.  It is the one with all surface-mount components and sits in a steel bracket back-to-back with the main Amp board PCB 1, connected to it with red and black wires...
