    BeoCenter 2300/2500 wall mounting brackets

I know this subject has come up before, as I've searched previous threads, but I am still confused about how to easily and "cheaply" mount a Beocenter 2300 (with Beolab 2500 speakers) or a Beosystem 2500 on a wall.

I have looked at the STB bracket website and read about the WB 2087 wall bracket.  It looks very nice, but at a cost of 230 pounds, it cost more than I paid for my used BC2300!  I mean really, it is ridiculous!  There is also a WB2500 wall plate, which I am not clear exactly what it is for and how it is used.  Did B&O make an original wall mounting bracket for the Beocenter series and the WB2500 is some sort of accessory. If B&O did make an original wall mounting brcket, why do I need to by the WB2500.

If there is an original B&O bracket for this purpose, is it still available?  Was there something wrong with the design?

Heck, all I want to do is hang the unit (with speakers) on the wall.  I can't believe there isn't a simple bracket to accomplish this for less than 100 bucks.

If I can find someone with experience in this area, I will take this thread offline so as not to clog up the General Forum Superhighway.

    Many thanks in advance, Tom

B&O made two brackets. One to mount the Beocenter on it's own or one to mount the Beocenter with a pair of Lab 2500's. The former cost £85 and the latter cost £135. In either case the brackets that Peter refers to on Ebay were integral to both kits.

I agree that the STB brackets are horrendously expensive for what they are but as B&O no longer make the brackets you find yourself between a rock and a hard place!

I would keep looking on ebay if I were you but make sure that anything you buy is complete as most appear to have bits missing!!

    Regards Graham

Re: BeoCenter 2300/2500 wall mounting brackets

Hi Peter, thanks for the response.  I did check out the brackets you referenced, but it still doesn't answer my question about what is all required to do this mounting.  It would seem to me that the two little hooks shown in this auction are not all that is required.  Looks like some parts must be missing.

By the way, what does Earsdon mean?

    Hope all is well,

    Tom

Re: BeoCenter 2300/2500 wall mounting brackets

    Hi Graham,

Ok, so let me get this straight, I need the kit to mount both the Beocenter and the Beolab speakers.  Were there several pieces included in this kit or was it just on piece?  Do you know the part number for the kit?  Was it 2087 or something similar to the number STB uses?

Also, just to vent here a bit.  How could B&O discontinue the wallmounting bracket, when they still sell units similar to the old BC2300/2500?  In addition, there are still so many of these units out there, that I find it crazy that they wouldn't such these products in this way.  (Sorry, this is not your fault, but it's just insane!)

Thanks for the help thus far.

    Tom

Graham is correct that you need to make sure you have the whole set! I attach the relevant manual for the Ouverture!

The kit is made up of 3 pieces plus bolts etc

1 A cage to hold the beocenter and speakers together

2 a wall plate on which the above hangs

    3 A pair of handles

I believe that Peter is sending you a picture from the service manual.

I am with you re the discontinuation of the kit and can throw no light on the matter. As you say "insane" but they must have their reasons.

    Regards Graham

Re: BeoCenter 2300/2500 wall mounting brackets

    Peter,

Now we are getting somewhere.  The attachment was very helpful.  Looks like the STB bracket is a bit more robust than the original B&O design, but at least I am getting an understanding of what is required.  I'm slow, but I'll eventually get there.

I still do not know what an Earsdon is.

    All the best,

    Tom

    Graham,

This explanation is a great help.  And yes, Peter has sent a diagram.  This is what I wanted and need to know!  Thanks for taking the extra few minutes to make it clear for me.

    I still can't believe  B&O doesn't support this anymore.

    Best regards, Tom

Re: BeoCenter 2300/2500 wall mounting brackets

Having taken a look at the 2087 wallbracket PDF: I am missing parts C and E (little cap and small wall mounting plate, as well as the screws).

Is there a service manual to find out if these parts are available as service parts?

    Thanks

    Ralf

Re: BeoCenter 2300/2500 wall mounting brackets

Sorry I am a bit late to this conversation.

Yes, it is confusing as I had to ask B&O staff at several stores many times before I got the answer I needed.  There is a metal piece ["L"-shaped in profile] that holds a BC2300 or a BC2500 together with the Beolab 2500.  Once this piece is attached to the B&O equipment, the Beocenter and the speakers can be moved as one.  There is a second metal piece, which is flat, that bolts to the wall.  The "L"-shaped piece hangs from the second piece.

I do not know whether the "L"-shaped piece is still availabe.  At the risk of possibly contradicting the other members, I was able to order the second piece from my local B&O shop for around HK$250 about a year ago.  It might be worth asking your local B&O dealer.
