    RCA to Din converter

I am trying to attache a pinnacle SoundBridge to my Beomaster 7000.

I have a 5 pin din to 4 RCA (In and out ) converter.

When I hook up the two RCA outputs from the SoundBridge to the two input jacks on the converter, I don't get any sound out of the receiver, I have even switched the cables and still nothing.

Do I need a 7 pin din or should it work with what I have?

I think you will need two normal RCA cables, there are 4 RCA connectors on the back of your BM7000 two out and two in. There are mounted two shortcuts in them that you need to pull out first.

    Re: RCA to Din converter

The beomaster 7000 doesn't have RCA inputs they are all DIN - I think you mean the BM5000/5500's.

Don't forget there is no RIAA fitted to the BM7000.

Any ideas on the 5pin vs 7pin plug?

7 pin is not required. The extra two are datalink only so will not affect sound.

Which socket on the 7000 are you plugging into you?

If you're going into the AUX input on the back of the BeoMaster, then it will need to be in 'option 2' (so it responds to both audio AND video commands, the AUX input is activated with the TV button).

I've connected it to the Aux input.

From the Beolink 1000, this input can be selected by either the Sat or Tv button.

    Still no sound.

I'll hook it up to a mini system that I have to see if the unit is actually working.

Try the TAPE socket. I'm guessing that the AUX has no output!!!

    rabble:

I've connected it to the Aux input.

From the Beolink 1000, this input can be selected by either the Sat or Tv button.

    Still no sound.

AUX is selected on the BM7000 by pressing shift > radio on the beolink 1000, never heard of using the Sat or TV buttons for this and I'm pretty sure this is where you are going wrong.

    Re: RCA to Din converter

I now have sound although the volume needs to be turned way up.

The volume output on the soundbridge is at max, so I^m not sure what's causing the low output.

I'll try to select the Aux input using shift radio (instead of SAT, seems to also work), althoug it should not really make a difference as AUX is apprearing on the display.

    Re: RCA to Din converter

i'm also epxeriencing a problem connecting rca's to my beosound 9000.  I have the 5din to 4 rca cable as well but I can't get any sound to come out of my beosound 9000.  are there any tips on doing this or step by step insructions?  i paid 70 bucks for this cable from B&O korea and they said they can't help out because the rca product (a dvd player) is not their product.

    Re: RCA to Din converter

This is usually a matter of selecting the correct pair of RCA's on the adaptor (2 are inputs and 2 are outputs) and select AUX on the 9000.

Try to eliminate the DVD player as the problem by connecting something else to the adaptor (try a VCR).

Are you connected to the correct socket in the 9000?
