BS3 with non-B&O speakers and subwoofer

Is it possible to "link" non-B&O speakers and subwoofer to the BeoSystem3 (and let it work) ?

I have no practical experience of this but providing they are active speakers (Subs generally are anyway) then it should be, with the necessary cabling know how. The only other option I imagine would be by stringing a power amplifier off the powerlink sockets, again with suitable cabling, and the connecting passive speakers to the power amp. If you wanted surround sound this could get way too complicated and would beg the question why you would start with a BS3 unless you really want the visual capabilities and were prepared to make the audio setup complicated and fraught with challenges.

My B&O is in my Bio.

Laughing  I think that sums it up nicely! It is a common question that we get. If B&O really shine in one area, it is speaker design and performance and so it always seems odd to get the other products and not use the speakers. However I do see that if you already have some good speakers that it might be an option. In that case one can get leads to connect powerlink sockets to RCA plugs on amplifiers and active speakers.

There are lots of other brand video and sound processors out there, that would be wiser selections if you aren't going with the B&O speakers. I consider BeoSystem 3 to be a perfect solution to the needs of any home theatre owner, but that perfection really comes out when you connect B&O screens and speakers to it -- since the processor is calibrated for those.
You can connect other screens and speakers but then you're assembling a "car" with parts from a lot of different models.

Apart from that, there are ways of doing it, of course!
