Does anyone know how to get it to smoothly control volume level of non-B&O equipment through Lintronic box or similar?

I really can't get it control the volume on my Amp, smoothly... If I scroll slowly then ofcourse it volumes up on every "click" but doing faster scrolling on the wheel doesn't turn the volume up faster than if I did at half the scroll speed.
