I have a 60GB iPod video (5th gen?) and it has been absolutley perfect for the last 4 years or more until last night.

On a full charge, it suddenly displays a message, "very low battery", or something to that effect. I put it on the dock and it gives the message "Please Wait. Very Low Battery."

This morning, I remove it from the charger and the screen pixels fade and stay partially visible. So naturally I go to reset by pressing and holding the menu and center buttons, only to recfeive the same result.

This all happend several months ago and somehow I revived it, complete functionality good battery lengths and all. But this time nothing seems to help.

Feels like a battery fault...

Any ideas? Advice? Thanks guys!

I would change the battery! I have done this myself in the past - you can get kits - the tricky bit is getting them apart! Look here!

That is much, much cheaper than I figured. I have been looking at getting a new unit all together and even an iPad! But this is still definitely worth doing anyway!
