Surround Sound Amplifiers (processors) for use with B&O speakers

    I have...

    A 9000 CD player, 2 x Lab4500 wall mounted panels (front speakers), 2 x Lab 4000 (back speakers) and a lab 2

They are all plugged into an Avant TV that is starting to fail... So I am looking at options!!!

The best B&O options are to buy either a Vision 10 or 7-40 to replace the Avant - a simple swap over...

The other option is to hook everything into a decent Surround Sound amplifier that can support active speakers...

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHICH MANUFACTURERS DO THIS? I understand DENON have variable line out for each channel?

One issue I am aware of is that the Lab 2 needs a power line to switch it on (it does not sense the line in signal) - Is this currect?

Also - As the Lab 4500's only have link sockets I assume I will need to convert them to phono (RCA)...

Any ideas or advice would be most welcome...

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Welcome to BeoWorld !

    Smile

    Regarding the Beolab 4500's;

they also have a line-in phono socket (located between the Powerlink-sockets)

    for connection to a non-B&O pre-amplifier.

Thanks - You know what? I just realsied that about 5 minutes after hitting the post button... But thanks for the clarity...

Any ideas on a suitable surround sound amp? What would be great is to find a pre-amp only component as I do not intend to use the passive amps...

The DeToma X501 would do the trick, it has Powerlink sockets for each channel.

However, that product is discontinued and hard to find.

Next to that, it is a product from a few years ago, so specifications are not really up-to-date.

I used it for some time, and was quite pleased with it, it integrated very well in that specific setup.

(it basically offered surround sound in a older setup of MX7000 and Beosystem 4500 + Beolab 4500's)

    Yamaha RX-V3900 or it's smaller brother RX-V1900

Realy good AV Receiver,  excellent in- and outputs.
It has normal line out (pre out) for every single channel, so you should be able to connect the Beolabs!
You can  buy it in 2 colors (black or titan).
