    Beocentre 4600 - Turntable

When I try to play a record and press the switch 33 (or 45), the pick-up arm, which actually sits on the base plate of the centre, rather than being in a horizontal position parallel with the base (raised above it), slides towards the record and hits its edge. If I put the needle manually on the record, it plays normally until the completion of the final track, when it slides back constantly in contact with the record and drops of the record onto the base plate. It appears that the lifting mechanisam for the arm is not working. Could anything else be the cause?

Does anybody know how to solve this problem or recommend a person who resolves such issues at a reasonable price?

The lifting mech has seized in the lowered position, that's very common.

Do a search on the forum and you will find threads indicating a point to lubricate.
Maybe your search should be for Beogram (2200/2400 or similar) rather than Beocenter, the problem
    is the same.
