Exchange BeoVision 7 32'' DVD for BeoVision 7 40'' Blue Ray, yes or no?

I have bought 1 year used BeoViison 7 32" in mint condition 2 years ago. It has cost me 5.800,-€ with HD update (DVI). The TV now is 3 years old, MKI version. Works perfectly. What do BeoFans think, is it worth to sell this set and buy a new BeoVision 7 40'' next year? The additional payment would be around 8000 to 9000,-€.

Would a new BeoVision 7 40'' be more future prove with new MeoSystem 3 and Blue Ray player?

    Thank you for any comment.

Absolutely nothing is 'future proof'. How can it be? The future is indefinite.

If you're happy with the BV7-32, why upgrade? Of course there will be a massive difference between a MK1 BV7-32 (which I used to own) and a BV7-40 MKIII or the forthcoming MKIV.

However, if you read the forums, there are many people who think Blu-ray is on a slippery slope, which means that the future of this technology isn't proved.

Only you can make the decision if it's worth upgrading.

What is the cash only price of the BV7-40 in Euros??

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

The price of new BV7 40'' with Blue Ray should be the same as the price of BV7 40'' with DVD is now, about 12.000,-€

I'd say that an SD dvd player and a BR dvd player are equally in danger of being swept away by The Future. Wait until they put a BeoMaster 5 or something in it. Otherwise, don't let the drive determine you decision so much as the panel and the BeoSystem.

There is scarcely anything in this world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey. - John Ruskin

Trip, that's a long long long time away. 5+ years. By then, I'd have traded in this 'future proof' TV for another :)
