Hi all

I have a ML/MCL Converter and an IR eye which I do not currently use. Now I am looking for a solution to use the converter as amplifier for some passive speakers. This is meant to be a stand alone solution - no link to any B&O system required. Unfortunately there is no way to switch the converter on 

Is there a way to connect an iPod to the converter by using an adaptor? How can I use the setup without the need to knock something together?

Does anyone have an idea?

You can try switching it on using a Beo4 or Beolink with the following commands "Menu  0  3  Play" - but that is a test mode so I do not know if it will achieve what you want.  With the above it does not need to be connected to an ML driver.  STOP sends it back to standby....

I have tried with an eye - but  I am not sure if the eye is working!  I am going to dig out another eye and try again at the weekend.

You need a MCL 2AV to attach local sources to the amplifier. The Transceiver unit has to be connected to the link unit. I recall that my previous setup (BG 6500 and BC 6500 in a link room) worked locally even when the master was not present. You did not mention if you have the square or hockey puck type Transceiver.

Does the MCL2AV work with the later ML/MCL converter (hockey puck eye marries up via 7 pin din) or only the MCL 2P (older rectangular transceiver - bare cable)?
